Topic 3.1. Job Interview

A. Objective.


The objective is to describe a job interview and show the experiences of the past job, using gerund after the propositions


B. Brief reading on the subject.


The idea of the interview is that the interviewee tells the experiences of the past job with the intention of what they receive in the new company.

C. Definition and brief description.


In this job interview the manager and the interviewee are presented, the manager asks about his past work and the interviewee shows all the experiences and behaviors he had in previous jobs


D. Practice with at least 5 exercises.

  • Good morning, go ahead and sit down
  • My name is Francisco Lara, I am the company manager.
  • Why do you want to work with us.
  • Because I have experience, in my previous job I performed the same functions
  • I love to develop these functions in the company






Topic 3.2. In the Supermarket

A. Objective. 


The objective of this unit three topic is that we can request information on the location of products in a supermarket, using prepositions and prepositional phrases of the supermarket's interior location, in addition to using Where and a vocabulary related to supermarkets and groceries.


B. Brief reading on the subject. 


The issue is about supermarkets, since this is an integral part of our life, and it is important for us to be able to find what we need.


C. Definition and brief description. 


This theme of Unit three will help us write dialogues, in which we are asking and reporting on locating different products in different aisles and stands of the supermarket.


D. Practice with five exercises. 



  • In exercise one, we select the synonym for the words of the reading. 
  • In exercise two, we select the best possible answer. 
  • In Exercise three, we move the elements to the correct position. 
  • In Exercise fourt, we complete a set of expressions displayed, which indicate the location with a word from the following list: 
  • In Exercise five, we used Where to ask questions. 


Topic 3.3. At the restaurant

A. Objectives


  • Use superlatives to discuss options.
  • Use expressions with go to indicate destination and activities.
  • Use vocabulary related to eating at ordering food at a restaurant

B. Short Reading about the topic



In this topic of unit 3 "at the restaurant" you can see the interaction between Daniel and Marisol. Daniel invites Marisol to celebrate his new employment. They going to the Venezuelan restaurant "Los primos". In that restaurant they will have a conversation about the decoration of the place and the Venezuelan food. Dialogue with the waiter is also shown. The vocabulary used at this topic of Unit Three is about the restaurant and how to order to the waiter.


C. Definition and short description



Superlative Adjectives


A superlative adjective expresses the extreme or highest degree of a quality. We use a superlative adjective to describe the extreme quality of one thing in a group of things.

We can use superlative adjectives when talking about three or more things (not two things).

In the example below, "biggest" is the superlative form of the adjective "big":

As with comparative adjectives, there are two ways to form a superlative adjective:


  • short adjectives: add "-est"
  • long adjectives: use "most"

We use a superlative adjective to describe one thing in a group of three or more things.


D. Practice with at least 5 exercises


  • John is 1m75. David is 1m80. Chris is 1m85. Chris is the tallest.
  • Canada, China and Russia are big countries. But Russia is the biggest.
  • Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world.
